Maria Tzafeta was born in Thessaloniki in 1982. She studied architecture at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and graduated in 2006. In 2007 she received her Master’s degree with Distinction on Architecture & Environment (MSc) from the University of Portsmouth, UK, focusing on environmental design and sustainability. In the same year, due to her interest in environmental design, she participated in the presentation and publishing of an article for the CSAAR 2007 conference that took place in Tunisia. From 2007 to 2012 she collaborated with the architectural offices Schema 4 Architects and Office 25 Architects. She has participated in architectural competitions that received distinctions and she is in constant collaboration with architectural offices in Athens, Thessaloniki and Larisa.

Based in Athens, her office undertakes architectural design along with site supervision and construction, as well as energy-efficiency evaluation reports. In collaboration with other practices, she often participates in architectural competitions. Also, the office specializes in interior and furniture design.
